Welcome

This is the first entry in my new blog. I will be doing alot of changes, hopefully. Making the blog a lot more interesting. Anyways, now that it is starting up I will be posting comments, thoughts, rants, and announcements. So if i am adding anything of interest to the web you will see an announcement of it here. I am thinking it is going to take some time to get used to this, because for now i have no clue who i am writing this to. Am i writing for myself, my friends, or random people on the internet that will stumble across this. Or find it based on posts i have on other websites. I guess i'll find out soon enough.

My first wireless post.

It is really cool as a programmer when you get to the point where you can code what you want. I wanted to wirelessly post so I wrote a program to do that. I guess learning how to program pocket pcs are finally paying off.

New Videos

The videos section of wasted brains has been updated. Take a look at all the funny videos i just added:

Wierd World

The world we live in is damn crazy. Today in class while discussing classical career routes and deviant career routes, it made it sounds like i have already gone through the peak of my career. I am still a student in college. The problem is the tech industry is so down right now that i will probably be making less an hour than i was when i designed sites for people in highschool. Also, the tech industry is notorious for firing out the older programmers and hiring bright young kids right out of college. Good thing i am getting out of coding and going to be running my own company. I doubt i will have to program after our first project reaches its first release. Once this happens i will be good to go. Anyways with tech turning over and job rates so down my professor is talking like we would be better off dropping out of school and working somewhere like walmart because after you put in many years there the pay isn't bad and the vacations and benefits are great. So what the hell is up when a world is trying to move intellegent people into blue collar jobs.
Is there no need to develop anything new. Since so many of the pasts great inventions are still running nad ruling are life. Think about it, Cars are so dominant even if better methods of transportation were invented, it wouldn't be worth changing the entire highway and road system over to the newer device. There would be claims it is to hard to control, the common man couldn't use it.... Blah blah blah change is hard and no one wants to make changes anymore. So is it truely a time when great innovations are avoided because they are to hard to implement. Do we look for little simple improvments that can adapt to an already lucrative market? Not all inovation is dead medicine will always be worth more the more it can do. But ther systems my be so entrenched in society that they are here to stay. Anyways i read this quote that i don't know who it is from and i think it is a hilarious illustration of how wacky the world currently is.

"You know the world is going crazy when the best rapper is a white guy, the best golfer is a black guy, the tallest guy in the NBA is Chinese, the Swiss hold the America's Cup, France is accusing the U.S. of arrogance, Germany doesn't want to go to war, and the three most powerful men in America are named "Bush", "Dick", and "Colon."

Wasting A Post

Well shit, finals are around the damn corner. I guess that means i should spend time updating and adding new things to my site. Yeah apparently having to work hard for me isn't a problem. It is just working hard on something i am supposed to work on. I can waste a whole bunch of time setting things up on my server and writting a program to wirelessly update my blog. My new thing, I am going around advertising my sites again. I decided that they are decent enough that they should get some traffic. Anyways this a worthless post. But i am new and so are you so you must have been born inside of my mind. What the hell am i talking about... well get the hell up and fight like you have some shit. That aint nothing. I could blow through you like you were a child during nap time.

Speed of technology

Recently while discussing technology with a professor, he mentioned that after leaving college our education and knowledge are outdated in about 2 years. I think this is not even close to true. I mean technology does move fast but I have worked on numerous projects. None of which move as fast as the world believe technology moves. I have been involved in many groups creating projects that are in development for years. Also the use of things like Java and C++ have been around for many years to knowledge of there development would be usefull. There are always many cutting edge technologies being created and tested but many if not most never get adapted into general use. I would say one of the bigger changes occuring right now is the move to .net frameowrk in windows developers.
Also most of the concepts you learn about programming are how to think and solve problems. Not how to do this only in a specific language or situation. Just through out my college career i have been moving from one language to another. Anyways i don't think our education dies as quick as some may believe.
Lastly, I was wondering why some projects do take so long. Some projects that I have worked on I can contribute a significant and large part of the program in a few weeks. Then it doesn't seem to progress from any other side for several months. This slow rate of program development makes me wonder where the hold up in most large developments are. Perhaps it is only this way while working at a university research group. Perhaps it is all of the overhead the university requires, and the overhead of always working for and towards grants. Presentations to keep money flowing consume alot of project time.

Good Citizen

I wonder what do we have to do as "Responcable citizens." Does this mean we have to pay attention to all the world affairs? Does this mean we have to vote? Does this mean we have to have enough knowledge of world afairs to vote knowledgably for presidents and other public officials that have foreign agendas we agree with. Honestly i couldn't keep up with all of the global issues well enough to have a valuable opinion while still going to school or having a job. I thought we were supposed to vote for people because then their responibility is to watch the world and be our eyes and ears. To watch the information we don't have time to. Now how am i supposed to vote for someone to do that for me, when i never really know anything about them? When i beleive all they do is say what they think people want to hear not what they mean? When Corporations have more pull in MY GOVERNMENT than i do. What then? Does that mean to be a concerned citizen i have to protest? Leave the country? Stop paying taxes? I really don't think their is a very good solution to make my voice heard. To even form a worthwhile voice. So i guess I am not a good citizen becuase i don't trust anyone to make the decisions for me and i don't have time to research them enough to make a decision for myself.
