arggg phone

My phone has officially died. It refuses all atempts to charge it. So you can leave voice mail and I can get that. It sucks... but most people that call me read this blog so now they will know... you can also leave me a message hear or send me email which I check often.

At least since i have to program pocket pc phones for work they are helping to buy me a much newer and nicer one and will be covering alot of the bills for it.

I have far to many meetings coming up at work... arggg But at least it should help me get a cool job.

We have moved half of our stuff to our new place... funny enough dom is sleeping there tonight and I am sleeping at our old place. Many we ran out of steam moving stuff, but also since i can't park at work I havent come up with a solution to that once i move... since i walk currently. Also i guess since there is still alot in our old house it is best to have someone stay there.

moving

moving is horrible. I can't find any of my stuff. I keep leaving things i need at the old house. I can't cook because we dont have our kitchen set up. I need to buy a whole bunch of new things for the place. I have to fix some stuff that is broken. It is currently like eveyr day when i get back from work i am just at another job. GRRRR says I.

On the plus side... I am still alive and kinda feel like dancing.

home sweet home

My new house is starting to feel more like home as i have started to get it a little organized. I have unpacked most of my stuff and have been able to find most of the things i am looking for. I like the new place and hopefully it will serve me well until i leave it behind.

Learning new languages. I am learning VB.net C# and pearl right now. I have had some experience with all of them but now that i am looking for a job i want to work at it seems some of them are becoming more important so i am begining to work on getting better at these langauges..

I went to a wedding today. Brock and Amy got married and i wish them the best of luck. The wedding also brought scott into town so i got to seem him briefly he should be here again by now but i dont know where he is and my phone doesnt work so i am basically sitting and waiting. Yeaaaa.

Oh well i guess everything is going well for now. and I shall enjoy the rest of my weekend.

fighting back

Well lately all the spam on my various websites had been getting out of control. They have machines that go to blogs and post comments with links to ads for words to raise their rating at google. It sucks it has been annoying me and the others that i host for. So i coded up a little thing i am hoping will help. We will see if it actually does. The good news is that i learned where code resides for the comments and i can add in more code and such if i need to to start blocking all the spammers. Fun huh. In the next couple days we will see if it works.

It is a good use of learning time since today i was reading learning perl and working on perl programming and the entire blogging system was written in perl. Yeaaa I am learn a language that people told me to learn better before applying to google.

if you have any problems leaving comments anywhere tell me with email...

yeah interview

I recieved a email today for my first interview. A machine learning company in boulder is interested in me. It is exciting because I would basically be continuing the research and work that i have been doing at L3D on text categorization and machine learning, but in production level kind of situation. I am sure some things would be different. I would be returning to work with LSA which I haven't been using much lately because of my initial success with SVM. Anyways it is exciting to start knowing that people are really interested in the skills you have learned and worked with.

Besides that work is going well... I helped fix a server problem yesterday that allowed us to do a big demo that we needed to do for an important funding group. Most of the issues were little problems associated with our switch away from the CS network.

I have two weeks of summer left so i am going try not to work to hard during that time. Enjoy some of the last days without homework and last days with flexable hours.

NO PHONE!!!

not having a phone is driving me crazy. At least i ended up getting to hang out with some people tonight and I got to set up going tubing on sunday and camping on tuesday night. arrrggg

Oh well it has been a fairly relaxing and stress free weekend. Since i didnt really get ahold of anyone i should have accomplished more stuff, but there is only a little time left before school starts so i am trying to not work very hard.

On the plus side it seems that my anti comment spam code is working well enough which is very nice. Back to just coding up other fun projects. I am sure I will have some fun stuff posted up soon. I have been doing alot of random little coding projects to learn some of the stuff i think i will need to know to get the kind of job i want.

Glorious days I have a Phone

Thats right i have a phone again. It is great and amazing to be back in the wireless world. I couldnt for the life of me get together with people or make plans. Part of that is due to the fact that i didnt even have a wired phone to call people. Anyways my number is the same. I have a little sony ericson phone with bluetooth. When i get a pocket pc of my own (work is buying me a pocket pc phone on the 26th) I will get a pocket pc with bluetooth and then just connect through my phone. I have T-mobile and i have been pretty happy with them.

T-mobile recently made all of their wifi hotspots in florida free to help all of the people whos homes have been destroy to communicate and find places to go. I say good for t-mobile. They are also the only company that didnt raise your rates for phone number portability.

i am terrified

I just applied to google for a job and I am terrified because i really want to work there and applying could mean i am rejected and if i am rejected i will be very sad and nervous about the job market for awhile. I have been pretty upbeat about jobs so far because there sems to be alot out there that would want the kind of skill set that i have. Then again times are hard and i know alot of CS majors who dont really have jobs.

ARGGGGGGG Danny's scared adn danny wants to work on machine learning at google...

Sorry sorry

Well the school year has begun and I am back to writing. I didn't write much for awhile but it seems that people hardly blog or comment in the summer. Anyways i am back and will begin to write more i am sure.

School seems fine. Things will go wll there i am sure. I should have a really easy schedule which is nice. I will be spending most of my free time doing work stuff and learning new languages and machine learning techniques so that I can get hired by somewhere that I am interested in. I am currently learning perl and c# and programming on my machine learning chatbot (who you can find on AIM: as captian2bot or at MegaDan.

I have applied to a ton of companies but I am sure i will find some more to apply to I always seem to.

Besides school and work things have been going well lately so whoopie for me. I guess it should be fun to party out alot my last semester and run around sociaizing with friends alot.

(Warning my chatbot learns from talking with users... users tend to say dirty things to it... it is rated R and is usually pretty dirty.)

coding up some stuff

Pocket PCs are really cool. I have really been enjoying what I have been able to do with my new pocket pc lately. It has really gotten me on a coding kick with all sorts of pocket pc projects.

For instance anywhere that i have internet i now have access to my entire music collection from just my pocket pc. This makes it really easy for me to listen to great music from anywhere.

August 31, 2004

Yeaa

I have gotten all sorts of my various pocket pc projects moving along nicely. I have also gotten some good work done on my chat bot. So coding stuff is going well.

Last night Nicole and I went to old C's to work more on my beer tour. It was a good time except it seemed all of the workers and employies there were really slow and hick like. Which was scary. I thought that some of them might take us home to there parents to shwo them city folk and we were only 15 mins outside of boulder.

Why did we go to the old C's outside of boulder you may ask? Because Dom finally got another job, he works at home depot. We went to go see him but we couldnt find him because they were training him in back (whipping him and spraying him with water). So we went to the old C's in LouisVille. Man it was crazy wierd and the people were really slow. They ended up bringing us the wrong check as well.

Oh well yeaa for progress and stuff. Yeaaa for progress on the beer tour.
