We have to discard the past
although it keeps a grip
dust falls on thorns
as if it would crash unwittingly

I didn't know you read Neruda! Or did you just find this accidentally? I usually don't bother with translated poetry, because I think it usually loses a lot in translation, but Neruda and Rilke are two writers so good that even translations can't ruin their lines.

Yeah i had to read some of both for a class and while reading Pablo Neruda I messed around with some of his work cause i liked it.
