Seekler Search Traction

Seekler is starting to get it's first bit of search engine traffic since we opened up viewing to the public.

It seems the one found most via search is currently

Most Anticipated Movies of 2008

followed by

Best Movies
best comic books - graphic novels
batman villains list
star wars villains
Favorite Cities to Visit

It is fun to start seeing some traffic coming in.

My Broken Glasses

This post is dedicated to my mom who thinks that if I am not making blog posts that I must be in danger or not doing well. All is well I just haven't had a bunch of time to write since returning from traveling and my focus has been in other places.

Anyways, my xmas list so far is rather boring this year as it is more practical and need based than any of my xmas lists have been for years. My mom thought I shouldn't wait for glasses and might need them now, I present this picture showing they are still holding together. I have glued them 4 or 5 times now, they are breaking more frequently, but I think they can make it until xmas... Yes for Simpson's fans once I get my new glasses I will probably miss my old glasses.

New Health Insurance

Starting tomorrow I am on brand spanking new health insurance. The best part is that is doesn't suck nearly as bad as my old health insurance. I can actually go see a doctor if I ever need to for a reasonable fee. My old insurance basically covered if I was hit by a bus. My new insurance would likely also cover a skiing accident without making me go to broke. I also get to see a dentist which my last plan had no dental... Rock on for $40 teeth cleanings...

I am getting pumped about the upcoming holiday weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone

To all friends and family happy thanksgiving, I hope you get to relax and spend the day with some people you love.

I hate turkeys. If you go to the grocery store, you start to get mad at turkeys. You see turkey ham, turkey bologna, turkey pastrami. Somebody just needs to tell the turkeys, "Man, just be yourselves!" I already like you, little fella. I used to draw you. -Mitch Hedberg

Gliding past 400 miles

Hooray, today I glided past 400 miles on my little glider. The glider is seriously falling apart, missing pieces, and dangerous to pretty much anyone but me. My dream is still to rock this past 1000 miles and then destroy whatever is left. Unfortunately I kind of doubt the glider could take another 600 miles considering its state while only at 400. So my more near term goal is to rock the glider past 500 miles. Helping me achieve this new goal is a game I call marching band.

In marching band I walk on my glider while playing guitar hero 3 for the Wii. I don't play the hardest songs or anything while walking on the glider, but it gives me a good chance to get a little better on songs I have already beat. Anyways, instead of only walking for 1.5 miles and getting board and getting off the glider it helps me to normally walk for much longer passing 3 miles or so each time I get on the glider. At a much slower pace, but hey you try walking on a glider that is falling apart while playing guitar.

Good times, cheap thrills, and trying to be healthier...

Testing the Seekler Widget

We are working on a feature on Seekler that would allow users to embed a Seekler widget pretty much anywhere myspace, facebook, blogs, iGoogle... So this is the first version, we aren't letting users use the widget yet, but I wanted to get some feedback of how the development is going. What features people would like, how the UI works, whats confusing? What looks good? Bad? Anyways the coolest thing is that the widget is Liquid meaning users can pick the width and the height for the widget and it will shrink and grow to fill the space. So check out the widget I have on my sidebar nav which is really thin and tall so it could fit in users toolbars, or you can see a really big widget embedded on the front page of Wasted Brains. Anyways I would appreciate any feedback so leave me a comment on the good the bad and the ugly.
